Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Are there significant layoffs happening at HPE, or is it just a myth?

Here's an improved version of your post that is more polished, engaging, and likely to generate responses:
I was laid off from Hewlett Packard Enterprise after Thanksgiving, but I’m finding it hard to get a sense of whether this is part of a larger workforce reduction (WFR). There’s been little to no media coverage in the Bay Area about layoffs at HPE, and I haven’t seen many posts on LinkedIn from others who’ve been affected. Even here on TheLayoff, I’m not seeing much in terms of firsthand accounts.

If you’ve been impacted or have any insight, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience. Are layoffs happening across specific teams or locations? Any idea how extensive this round of reductions might be?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share!

Take the money and run. This company is stuck in an endless loop of downsizing and reorgs. After being tasked with selling services and support my customers didn't need and we couldn't deliver I volunteered for my WFR and I'm glad I did.

Layoffs are always happening. You’ll rarely hear about them because they are done very discreetly by laying off little by little and not many people announce that they are getting let go.

I remember during Covid, I was working with people across different organizations who were helping us during product development. I was wondering why their Skype (because we hadn’t used Teams yet) status was set to unknown. My VPN wasn’t working properly so I didn’t know how to look up the org chart to see who their manager was. It look me about three months to find out that they were laid off…. Oh excuse me, “No longer with the company.”

Layoffs happen but it’s in your best interest to wonder about it. I got laid off at HPE. You’ll know what you’re getting let go when your manager stops giving you assignments and when you ask for things to do, they’ll simply say, “We got someone else doing that.” It feels like you’re in a waiting room for a long time.

They're pretty slick and targeted with their layoffs in order to not spook investors. They will pick and choose people (lately it seems anybody over the age of 50 in my org at least) from various different orgs, so as not to trigger WARN notices.

Judging by the lack of engagement, ChatGPT has done a poor job (re: "here's an improved version of your post that is more polished, engaging, and likely to generate responses".) Try changing the AI text editor.
