Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Not many avenues to advance

With the trends of AI and offshoring, many of us are likely now viewed as just temporary workers. I adjusted my expectations accordingly and stopped making any effort to progress my career. I just take my paycheck and try to do only the bare minimum. If they’ll replace us in the near future, why bother?

Hah, ive been on war rooms p1 level where one of those full Wipro teams gets paged and no one joins the call, chaos and confusion ensues. TCC has no clue what to do and a "SWAT" team is called in. One got so bad Candy man was demanding updates every 10 mins. You built this my guy! Offshore folks are gonna dip out the second their po-p code explodes or they are asked to do anything difficult, and theyre not gonna be available during US hours either!

Yeah, over the past few years the company has aggressively offshored. I’ve seen entire teams and departments removed and in their place 20 Wipro contracts (not joking). I don’t see much opportunity anymore. It did not use to be this bad.

Your willingness to accept table scraps along with your bitterness for being called out are continued proof that almost all jobs at UHG are bad for your health. Hopefully you will learn how to treat people before the next disaster, or before they find even cheaper yes men, or before the stress ruins your health.

Your low work ethics say a lot about you. That's why you will never advance.

I love found if you’re under a grade 24 it’s impossible to get promoted they will hire friends you just need to look elsewhere or be content with staying at the bottom level

Advancement also got watered down with all the acquisitions as well, lots of top heavy orgs brought in that limited advancement to the legacy employees that built Optum to what it is
