Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

Are layoffs done?

I don’t mean forever, but at least for a good while? I’m sorry if this sounds like a d-mb question, but I’m relatively new and not sure how things work here.

Not done. More to come in EU, Japan, etc. Basically geographies where culling wasn’t legal in Dec will be done in the coming months.

Anyway, the leadership from top to regionals are pure buttlickers.
They have zero clue what they are doing. Layoffs for the sake of. Fxxk them all. Fxxking swines.

As far as I am aware in Europe nobody was laid off yet due to European Works Council consultation. Nobody yet knows if he impacted or not but some can speculate looking to similar roles in other regions. Also people which are 20+ years in the company are at risk as they know the „old“ Cargill. For now, all speculations for EMEA but shortly impacted employees will be informed.

Great comment about productivity being sub zero. It’s the same in Europe. As a team we made up our goals in June. Realty is: Nothing to do since summer, but trying to look busy it is ridiculous. No real vision of what’s different and how or why it will work. Cargill is going nowhere as the change has not planned and won’t happen especially in a competitive market

You would think that given the time to plan this, they would have had a day 1 plan with that included new org structures and direction for teams not based in Europe. Yet here we are nearly a week into the new year - a month on from the initial announcement of what was to come - and still absolute silence. No idea about new team structures or how we are going to achieve FY or 2030 goals. Productivity is less than zero at this point.

I’m confused too, if more are coming, why did they delay it (at least in the US)? I heard a rumor there will be more this month but it seems counter-productive after those of us who are left have started regrouping these last few weeks just for more people to get laid off.
