I’ve seen it happen more than once. People trying to be nice by giving two weeks’ notice (or, in one case, a full month) when they quit, only to be asked to leave on the spot. When will people realize they don’t owe this place anything? You should just look out for yourself. One guy lost a month of pay for what? Being nice?

I'm not OP but I agree and don't give notice. One time the next company backed out.
