@OP Mike mcreary bites the dust on the North America all hands today. Who’s got the scissors on this one. And what. All raises have been done this year? #$*@$&+ no.

Cuts are coming today February 6th 2025. Entire departments may be cut with this “report and restructure”. It makes no sense why these cuts are impacting entire teams and must be blind moves by KKR where the elimination will be realized later when customers are faced to source from the competition.

I hear that for Omnissa's round of layoffs coming up there will be a VMware Severance Package offered. Anyone else heard the same or anything related to a severance package?

but we finally have broken even on profit margins! yes, not because of revenue, but because of cutting costs and outsourcing. The latter is not sustainable.

Our employee all-hands meetings have convinced me that Omnissa is doomed to an ongoing decline that is unstoppable. Our director's team meetings are equally lacking in any meaningful info that would lead me to believe there is hope for a turnaround. Being let go with severance actually seems appealing to me. I can then fully focus on my next job. That's all I can think about now, leaving and never looking back on this experience.

KKR will squeeze all it can out of y’all. It’s what they have done for years.

This will be the sixth time we have destroyed it, and we have become exceedingly efficient at it.

Next round of layoffs will be because our customers are fleeing to modern competitor apps. Most of my customers are now refusing to renew their subscriptions. We've tried everything, including steep discounting, but they are determined to switch vendors. The KKR reputation of acquiring antiquated software providers and harvesting profit is a huge negative. The smart CIOs know how this story ends, and they won't be fooled again.

If Meta can cut head counts, why not in Omnissa ? KKR need to reduce the head count asap and save Omnissa from drowning.

On a humor note, someone mentioned LinkedIn is like OnlyF-ns for middle level managers who are insecure , suffering from severe imposter syndrome and need constant validation.

Some of our sales and marketing employees are waiting to be let go. KKR surely won't tolerate supporting these low performers into 2025. Many are on performance plans that are due to end. It's time.

Yes, market is improving, most young and mid-aged engineers left voluntarily. They are having hard time to retain people.

You said, "Let see if they fire the right people this time."

I doubt that the KKR manager assigned to oversee their Omnissa investment has the skills or experience to make informed and wise decisions. It's the reason why our leadership is intact. KKR is clueless about our industry. Just look at their track record with BMC Software, acquired in 2018. Another 'money pit' of obsolete code in search of customers.

If headcount is reduced it won’t be the managers that get dropped, the techies will be the first ones to go and Management will be clinging to the ship as it is swallowed into the sea.

Outsource all jobs to Bangalore. Bangalore is tech scraping yard of the world where Techies drink in pubs and write buggy code. EUC is dead and must close this shop asap.

“ Our HR doesn’t do anything to help”

When are people going to learn. HR isn’t there to protect employees…..

That is the main reason why they can’t hire engineers, toxic environment full of horrible managers.

The product org is full of these type of people, most of IC won’t speak out because they saw others been put a side when they tried to raise their concerns.

Can’’t agree more, my manager is one of those that promote himself taking credit of his direct report work, sadly his boss support that and doesn’t talk with any of us. The whole team is on silence and looking for other job opportunities to get out.

Our HR doesn’t do anything to help.

This must happen ASAP. Only the ones playing the old VMware style political game are getting visibility, the ones that speaks out goes to a freezer.

Shankar is not aware of those serious problem or he doesn’t care.

During the 7 months that Norlin was promoted to lead our sales team, nothing changed. The SaaS revenue decline continues. In my opinion, KKR has fumbled the sales reorg. What were they thinking? He's repeating his failed sales tenure at Dell, HP, and NCR. The layoffs in 2025 are now unavoidable. Our ongoing leadership void has sealed our fate.

Who would have thought being bought by a greedy money thirsty PE would be a bad idea! LMAO!

Slowly and steady they will be left alone with "fake it till you make it" kind of people, those who contribute with nothing to companies. Those who are happy with $0 raises, since they know they don't deserve a penny. Keep pushing Shankar!

There will be more cuts and more cuts after that and so on until they lean out the operation. Unfortunately, the fact of the matter remains: most of the people who contributed to the real talent have already left a long time ago. The management has failed in providing leadership or improving our product and value to the customers. Instead they have hired and promoted individuals in management positions who do nothing but put fear and disappointment in the mind of individual contributors instead of addressing the real problems. When will this end? KKR needs to realize they need to address the problem with management in a meaningful way or risk damage to their investment. This is not working!
