Factories are not capable of shipping anything fast! Service centers were saving us from customers abandoning us! No one will wait for products for three to seven weeks what is the current lead time, especially in the oil and gas industry where timing is everything!

Well, a lot of the service organization is part of MSS. Dunno if this cash cow already has their service as part of MSS and now MSS will move it to some 3rd party. I wouldn't be surprised if they are going with some lame 3rd party, considering who manages MSS.

And by outside organization, do you mean some other 3rd party company? or "synergies" with another division? There's a word that likes to get thrown around lately. Guess we'll find out in due time.

My main question would be what do you mean by service? There is customer service, technical support, Field Service, and the last two are separate groups. So, service is a broad term in this case.

Using Code language because it’s not official yet, but if you’ve been around Fisher they lost their field service years ago under “another” organization. Under that effort shops were shut down, many people let go, and service had to interview for new jobs with organization. This will happen to MSOL.

Any word on Fisher? That’s a cash cow.

MSOL will lose their service division.

"A cash cow division." Whew. Had me going for a second there. Feel bad for whatever division you're talking about.

A cash cow division will lose it’s service arm and farmed out to an outside organization for less money and benefits….if they are fortunate enough to have an offer. This is rumored to affect other portions of jobs being moved out in the next 1-3 years. People will be looking over their shoulders and will affect productivity and loss of employees.

Can you elaborate on that reorg information and what locations it affects?

You think this is good? Wait until you hear in one week or less on reorganization. Jaws will drop and morale will sink to the bottom. Should be great moves for the company not so much for employees.

But won't we make up for it with all the personal enrichment we'll get from collaboration and innovation?
