Everyone hates Intel when the stock is down.

The fish is rotting from the head. CEO is gone. The incompetent Board, Interim CEOs, and the ELT all need to go. They all had hands in damaging the company. It is surprising that it has not happened yet.

It is hard to refute the contents of this article, it is being reported by the Wall Street Journal which has a reputation for publishing well researched articles and is consider a valid source of business information across the investing industry.

Interestingly, it reads like a polished version of a lot of the comments posted on this site over the years. A lot of us ICs saw this happening but were powerless to do anything about it. If you made statements to the established leadership of the problems you saw at a minimum you were dismissed as a mo-on or more likely squashed like a bug.

This is the best quote out of the article. It is referencing Andy Groves book Only the Paranoid Survive:

“The book is literally about the importance of not missing strategic inflections, and then Intel proceeds to miss every single strategic inflection since,”

Very true statement, apparently the book wasn't required reading for Intel's CEOs, ELT, or Board.

The Board needs to be FIRED!!!

The board is composed of people/groups that own intel.
They can't be fired.
Hopefully they lost a lot of money though.

Perfect karma for a company that tortured and spoiled the careers of so many bright engineers.

There were warning signals quite early on, when the likes of Jim Keller and Raja Koduri complained about a culture of stalling change. Nobody cared.

The people here with jobs at Intel are still drinking the kool aid.

It's over folks.

Intel lost $16 billion last quarter. It now produces mediocre products for disappearing markets. It makes no money anymore. It missed every new market of the last 30 years (iphone, tablet, GPU, ai).

It will no longer exist by the end of the year. At best you can hope to transition your role to whichever multinational conglomerate buys the asset you are working on. They will keep you around for 6 months to train your replacement in Banglore.

Shitel will get what it deserves. It's a treat to watch Shitel dive like a Titanic and file for bankruptcy
