And so it begins -- consolidating the Americas

Happy New Year!

Guess I better get my resume in tip-top shape since the writing is now on the wall for all US and Canada folks! Consolidating the Americas into one region is very ambitious, since there is literally nothing that the US/Canada has in common with LATAM.

Interesting times! What do y'all think?

Trump already made the offer, so perfectly aligned with what to come.

90% sales are political or emotional. It has very less to do with product features and functionality. It is all about networking and relationship. How can this merge help ? Unless the management is working on an exit strategy of selling the company with a reduced headcount and hefty payout. :) If they give me 3 weeks for every year + 2 months extra that will be a good deal.

SAP doesn’t combine regions to give employees more cultural understanding and enhanced opportunities - it’s always about reducing HC. If you are in North America and you have a counterpart in another region in the Americas, you can be certain your role will be eliminated. This is precisely what happened in EMEA when north and south were combined. It didn’t matter if you produced better results than your South counterpart.

I do not understand, I am from development and i thought the GTM in Americas always worked as one team even though they had two leaders . Basically, people get assigned geography or accounts, and they handle them. New sales or more licenses. In development of a EMEA customer has a issue, me working in US will fix it. The move looks like we have more people doing the same work so it is a union that will remove duplicates. Am i missing something?

All ECSPs gone! Americas merging. Bye Lloyd (who has been checked out anyway)! SD and LAS kick offs should be real depressing for many. Just remember if you qualified for WC and you are canned, you lose the trip even though you maybe employed and in good standing through that date. Wild times with rudderless leadership.

You all want to believe the combination won’t affect you — until it does. This is what happened when EMEA north and south combined and amazing leaders with 20 years’ experience were shown the door. Sadly, many of you in N.A. will lose your jobs and it’s better to face it now.

Yeah it's real interesting times !!! ..... Obviously here is another post from a loser outside of SAP ( who is decades out of touch with the facts) to spread more meaningless BS.

The least you could do is at a minimum get some accurate and up to date info and then attempt to spread rumors.

I heard 200 customer success employees at SAP North America were let go on January 2.

So EMEA North combined with EMEA South in Q4 2023/Q1 2024 into one EMEA (that included MEA) and it was an excuse to get rid of “dual” roles. People in the north were forced to interview for the combined role and in most cases, the person from the south got the role. A lot of really great people were let go. So I think that’s what you North American folks should expect.

Wow! This is a tough crowd. Not surprising the culture at SAP is going south.

For anyone who has been driving in and out of the NSQ campus at any time FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS - there has been a 40 foot sign calling the location the "Americas Headquarters"

So I miss what the issue is ???

Any ideas what areas will be impacted by consolidation?

Don't be ridiculous. The CoE was already global before this change.
