Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

What the actual F**K?!

I am extremely frustrated with the fact that we lost people that actually do the work and provided extra time to finish tasks. I’m still trying to figure out the criteria used to let go this last batch but now I’m dealing with people that are so d-mb and absolutely horrible at their jobs. Even some of the managers that are still here are incompetent and really don’t know anything about the business or the function of the team they inherited.

I’m stuck picking up the slack of my ex-teammates who I truly miss and also pick up work from other teams because the people who are left just SU-K. Some of the people that were let go not only did their job really well but were confidants that a lot of us rely on when getting frustrated with work or personal lives.

The group that was laid off recently was comprised of long time employees that actually never did any work. On top of that, most were coming in to the office for 4-6 hours a day AND not working at all while at home. None of them actually produced any viable work product or ideas for that matter. The legacy FDR employees, with few exceptions, dig their heels in whenever any new idea comes up and their default answer is “that’s not gonna work” or “we tried that in 1992.” Fiserv is where innovation goes to die.

I'm convinced it wasn't all badge ins, Sapience, and performance. I I've talked to managers that say they lost their best people in the layoff, and are struggling. I know folks who were going in 5 days a week that were let go. I agree with the original poster, with some of the incompetent folks who are left, it doesn't make sense. I've been incredibly frustrated with the mediocrity of some people I'm now forced to work with because the good ones are gone.

If you don’t show up, you shouldn’t get a bonus.

The criteria ordered by priority:

  1. Badge in/out records
  2. Work activity records (sapience)
  3. Performance

Criteria was and will be sapience and badge data. It will get worse. It will affect bonus eligible people next.
