I'm hearing multiple JL10+ DMTS level (and higher) technical folks were let go in early Dec 2024. For a company that is struggling to find its differentiation getting rid of your innovation folks makes zero sense. Yes, they get paid more but they are generating the future technologies for the company. Every action GF is taking is more towards just cost reduction and less towards differentiation. This strategy is going to sink the company. As an employee or investor in GF, ask yourself how is GF differentiated compared to the other foundries? If you are like me and can't come up with any items, then the future is most definitely going to be a disaster for the company, the wheels on the bus are falling off. When will the execs in GF wake up and realize their only niche in the foundry market where we can make higher gross margins are with differentiated technologies.

Not finding a buyer for BTV really hurt. What little is still being manufactured there needs to be moved to Malta and the plan to turn the site over to the state needs to move forward!

Unfortunately, the business is being run by TB, a semi outsider, who’s forte is MS xls/short term #’s
This reinforces GF’s position as an early career employer only. Aka, get your experience and then get out (assuming you stay in Semi).
This will change, when Mubadala sells more of their shares, TB loses his GFS battle axe, and a good board of directors is appointed.
You now know the rules, play the game instead of complaining (which gets you no where).
