Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Was talking to an ex colleague who is in the process of suing intel

He is suing Intel for age discrimination. Wondering who else has sued or suing Intel and why?

I couldn't afford the hassle and costs and this is what these large corporations want, right? I will live vicariously and hope you all win!! Age discrimination is so rampant and yet nothing is done about it. And for those younger folks reading these posts, remember you too will be in the same boat as are your parents.

You should read the blog that followed age discrimination from 2016.

Another option is to report misuse of PERM ad filings. This won't cost anything and the company will be in court against the Government, so your name won't be on the complaint. I believe they have been reported so you are missing out if you don't join the complaint. I believe that you can report this even if Intel coerced you sign a severance package, though you should call the Department of Justice Immigration and Employee Rights and double check with their investigators.

If you love Intel you will sue. Help Intel clean itself up. Let’s get rid of and pull out the bad actors entrenched in. By suing you are improving intel by forcing them to be a better company. So if you are truly loyal to intel and have a valid case you should sue. Cut out the cancer

@B3

Did you accept the package yet? If yes, you might not be able to sue. I am hoping you haven’t signed the package yet

Good luck, and I mean that seriously. There were many employees that were CPMed who were solid or even outstanding contributors. There are more reasons for getting laid off than just poor performance or age.

Thank you for the information, @b3

Actually I was under ISP, not CPM :)
and I'm only one in the team of six who was let go.
I'm going to check with some attorneys for consultation very soon

Your legal costs will likely exceed your settlement. The lawsuit will show up in a background check so prospective employers will probably avoid you.

@b3+1jghzvakq you voluntary took a package and want to sue? I don't think it works that way. Unless you meant you got ISP? If that's the case was your whole dept let go? I know certain groups that were all ISP. If that was the case this may also be hard to prove it was age related. You can check with a attorney who specializes in labor law that will give you a free consultation. Have a list of questions ready, and also all your accomplishments, anything that an attorney would feel would help your case. Good luck.

Hi All,

I received the CPM notification last October, and just a few weeks before that, I received a DRA (Department-level Recognition Award) and a personal recognition email from one of the VPs for my contribution to the significant improvement in quality and productivity in one of the key projects at Intel.

This clearly shows that job performance is not an issue for me, and their decision to let me go must have something to do with my age (over 60).

I think I have a strong case here and would like to join the lawsuit. Could someone please provide the contact information?

Thanks very much in advance.

There have been more than a few employment lawsuits, age discrimination and unfair pay practices with women getting paid less than men that Intel lost. There is a long list. If you use this search string in Google - you will get a list of them all.

sure, mother Intel is guilty - she will also fight you every step of the way and has way more legal power than any individual or small class action as they cannot afford to loose one case and open the flood gates
