Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Lack of transparency

Is anybody else annoyed by the lack of concrete information coming from the top about layoffs? They barely communicated anything to us on the subject so far and even that isn't even remotely helpful in figuring out what is coming. I'm more upset at this than at layoffs. I understand layoffs. Sometimes they are necessary. But this kind of disrespect from the ELT towards employees is strictly an Intel thing.

Why would this leak take them by surprise. Every single layoff they had bas been leaked ahead of time.

They are being very transparent. The CEO made a video and directly confirmed we will layoff to reduce cost within 30 days. That pretty transparent.

Yes it’s the quiet period, but something tells me this leak took them by surprise and they are still regrouping for what they will say to employees on Oct 27th. There is no way they can let it keep going like this.

It's known as a quiet period. Intel has to be careful in releasing statements that can move the stock one way or the other. It's meant to avoid the appearance of providing insider type information. It starts ~ 4 weeks before the end of the business quarter. It is frustrating, I agree.
