Less desperate? Or smart ones? Get that stock and bail. But it’s probably smarter to wait for the pink slip so you can get that golden parachute.

Seriously, there’s no layoffs on the horizon. People will get a substantial payout in Q1 ‘23 (lots of shares vesting). Probably quite a few of the less desperate people will ej------e themselves from the glass phallus at that point.
No reason to lay people off when you’ll get natural attrition.
Just because the Holidays are around the corner is no reason to fret, besides, not like you will see it coming anyway.
You have nothing to worry about unless you worked for WPX or ever made any negative comments about NEBU.

That is a good question. Now they are just used to consolidate their power bases and get rid of anyone asking questions. What you allow is what will continue, and at this point, what will continue is the mediocrity of Devon and the worst kept secret in town.
Why lay off anyone? People are goofing around on the clock so clearly past layoffs were about the cool kids feeling good and having fun going forward, not building a lean machine. Some 2016 individuals cut made some business sense but every layoff after that was like a junior high popularity contest or bad reality show.
Our layoff leaders to the north jumping the g-n and leaving a trail of destruction on 63rd and Western, will the axe fall at the shiny phallus on the prairie. Stay tuned
But Devon doesn’t have any awful leaders?! Unless you count all of the DBBU and IT and data management. Then that’s All we have. :)
I think the lame a-s management is the one that starts the layoff threads. If you’re some awful leader, you know that people will slow down leaving you in the short term if they think they could possibly get paid to leave you in the near future.
We don’t need to lay anyone off, we are doing just fine running the WPX people out.
Having a job where you're always living in fear is not healthy.
Worried? Are you not in her good graces? If not, you are probably on the block in the next round.
