Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Press coverage

Press is pretty brutal on Intel at the moment (rightfully so) - the company is doing a lot to try and re-build a brand with the younger generations, but millennials and gen-z see right through the capitalist BS - the whole “secure billions in taxpayer funding and then immediately eliminate thousands of jobs” won’t fly with the people they’re trying to rebuild their brand with. Big oof.

As an Intel employee, the company is ran by id--ts and totally mismanaged.

Democrats said “chips act, jobs jobs jobs!!!” Well after the bag is secured looks like Intel will be eliminating more jobs in the US than creating them. Oops

Bet they don’t want to talk about it now!!!

Chips act was passed because the take over of Taiwan by CCP is inevitable and coming soon. Tsmc, Global and IFS are in a race to build fabs in US. There is a real fear as to what will happen to Tsmc when take over happens within the next few years. CCP president is getting a 3rd 5 year term mainly for the take over.
Intel should break up and spin off IFs.

Let's be real. Nothings going to change. People around me just barely heard about the news and that's only because I work at Intel and it caught their eyes. A few months later when Intel is seeing some growth they'll start hiring people and start the cycle again.
