Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

So much for transparency

I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't keep patting themselves on the back for being so "transparent".

I wanted to give this management the benefit of the doubt, I really did. Then they pulled this cr-p and I realized I was an id--t. All they care about are their wallets and how to fatten them further. With this move, they've dropped even the pretense of caring.

Maybe we should all send our resumes to McKinsey. Their website says they partner “with clients on new growth journeys. Accelerating towards a more sustainable, inclusive and growing future that works for all.” (Blah blah blah) Sounds like a swell place with free word salad.

As an hourly employee, I will say that going above and beyond for this company is a waste of time. They will see your effort, a use the h_ll out of your drive, and they will toss you aside as soon as they feel like you're not giving 110%. I was told early on to "establish myself as a non worker, or I would be abused and punished for the sins of my brothers." I never thought it would be true, but it absolutely is. This company is in serious disarray if they expect to outperform their peer group while tossing out years of knowledge, in an effort to gain a dollar of share price.

Agree too. Of the people who don’t get the axe, what the he-l is the motivating factor going forward? Obviously it’s nice to have a job, but I mean beyond that. More work for the same pay, decreased benefits, and confirmation that management really don’t give a rip about you. They’ll happily cut you out because some overhyped and overpaid consultant says so. Assuming I make it through to November, it’s 70% effort from here on out. Basic effort and that’s it, I’m not holding my breath waiting for a pathetic $250 extra in my paycheck or better rating.

I agree, work hard 15 years, give them everything you have and in a few weeks your badge won’t allow u in!
I’m done, checked out. Will do bare minimum until I find another job.
Even my manager checked out
