Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

There are still talented people here

I think that there are still many talented people here who, for some reasons of their own, are still here, and not in much better companies where they would be much more valued. However, the question is how long will TD remain lucky enough to have such skilled people here?

My manager gets rave reviews from everyone around him. I've got a 30+ year career (not all at TD) and he is up there with one of my best managers I've had in that time. He is at Director level, been here for around 10 years and I would say he has potential to go higher. It's people like this that TD needs to retain and groom for higher roles, not get externals in at a higher level who are just playing revolving doors.

There are only lazy and incompetent folks left at TD. Ride the wave and become irrelevant

You may have 3 talented people left - the rest are long gone....make sure Teradata is not the last company on your resume of people will think you are legacy too

Love the user name of the last poster. As a sr architect in r&d, I have stayed because I am valued and respected. This has been different in the past, but right now I feel that it is the best that it has been in over five years

And given how those people are treated by senior leadership JW... "one hour" meetings that run for 4. Lack of trust, no desire to spend to win. This fear mentality is driving us into the ground. Football metaphor... "prevent defense" - prevents you from winning.
