Thank You Day

I saw in the employee communication that the Thank You day is gone. It seems like people here alluded to this previously, but was anyone actually notified about it as a final decision before today? I'm just trying to figure out who is getting what communications.

Thanks to the person who asked that question. I bet they wouldn’t even have caught it

Yeah, we were told the day that managers got the email because we had already heard and got tired of waiting for him to say something. We were told to use PTO if we still want that day off.

Backstage doesn't list it in Upcoming Holidays, and all People Managers supposedly got an email saying the day was canceled, but there hasn't been an Org wide announcement.

If your manager has not yet told you that the day is canceled, you should ask them if you need to use a PTO day for the 28th.

Thanks for clarifying. In the Tony Gomes all hands (legal/HR/facilities/admin), someone asked him to clarify if TK meant no more Thank You days in '23 and beyond, or if that also included the one already scheduled for 10/28. He had no idea and seemed lost, his admin stepped in and said they'd find out and send out an email. A week went by and the only communication about it was the Employee Toolbox email today. Sounds like he's as "transparent" as TK.

They took it off the list of upcoming holidays on Backstage, but that's all I've heard about it. I think most people (apparently dmistakenly) interpreted TK's comment at the all-hands to mean the wouldn't be doing thank-you days in 2023 and beyond.

Maybe the plan is to keep it on the low and then fire everybody who doesn't work that day, "for cause".

Final decision was during the all hands when the Tom K said there are no more Thank you Days.

He also mentioned something about Tibco's week off no longer being a thing either.
