Lenovo's build quality continues to be absolute sh--e. Out of the box my laptop had a busted fan and broken track pad.
Those are not very lovely messages. Lenovo is an excellent company with great people. I hope the best for Lenovo!
You and your friends should be thankful you do not work at Twitter because they work so much; they sleep at the office. Lenovo culture is fantastic!

The myth of meritocracy. When things are good, management gets all the credit for their "leadership." When times are bad, it's always the workers' fault. No accountability. No Shame. No f-cks given. This is the Lenovo way.
I feel bad for those people who truly work hard for the success of the company. In my over ten years at Lenovo, I've worked with some truly dedicated employees in many jobs - ranging from sales, sales support, product management, manufacturing (especially), project managers, and fulfillment. Also the team members who came over from China to assist in the conversion of the server group into Lenovo. Who don't I feel bad for? Those managers, directors, and executive directors who get credit for the work of others, who brown nose and expect to be brown nosed, who play favorites and reward the favorites over those who do the most work, etc.... All of the worst ones I have met and worked with have an IBM lineage. (Not saying ALL former IBM employees are bad, but a lot of bad ones sure end up at the "good ole boys club of former IBMers".).
Finally. This can be good for Lenovo company.
But... But... Graph go up!
Best year ever!

ISO. ISG. SSG.
After 3 months his friend just walked out with no notice. Handed his badge and computer to his absentee manager. Money was great, but he didn't sign up for 60-70 hour weeks, doing the work of 3 people, and unrealistic expectations.
Yep. Whip the workhorse and tell them how lucky they are to be breathing the same air as the overpaid clowns who run the place. Glad to hear he had the good sense to leave before it beat him down like I saw with so many others.
Hire freeze in Europe. Sales who are leaving can not be replaced. Work just handed over to remaining teams...
I am sure their server sales increased so much to cover the delta. People always ask if I would recommend buying a Lenovo PC, tablet, phone, or working there. I can't tell them no, but I tell them what I would buy, why, and tell them there are better places to work. One friend's son turned down a job there and one of his friends took a job there. After 3 months his friend just walked out with no notice. Handed his badge and computer to his absentee manager. Money was great, but he didn't sign up for 60-70 hour weeks, doing the work of 3 people, and unrealistic expectations. Manager complained about how much was wasted on getting him there. He told the manager if they gave him 40-hours worth of work it would have been done exemplary in 40-hours. Don't give 100-hours worth of work an expect it to be done in 60-70 hours week after week.
Couldn't happen to a nicer company. Good luck.
Don't worry. I'm sure management will still get their bonuses. After all, they're the one's doing all the "work."
With the price of gasoline and food going up....up.....up....and out of sight. A new PC is not exactly on the shopping list for the vast population.
