CCI General Counsel Got Canned

Crown’s top attorney Ken Simon is out. This can’t be a good sign for the company’s future.

@44djv+1jZrStCR "Business Support" has been a joke for a decade now

Remember when there was a mass exodus from legal and then a prominent HR director left?

Writing was on the wall.

@Btnb+1jZrStCR Wherever Dan goes, so also does the SEC.

@Btnb+1jZrStCR, I want to meet the guy who actually cares about the kickbacks and can do something about it. That guy is a unicorn at Crown.

Dan is just a ticking time bo-b, the allowance of kickbacks and funneling of contracts to his friends will get out eventually. It's well known internally, it's just a matter of time until someone who actually cares finds out.

Simon probably won’t be the last out the door. When one guy deploys his golden parachute, the rest of those in the plane start thinking it’s not a bad idea either. Anyone heard anything lately about those SEC investigations? The company Dan came from was under one, too. Coincidence? Maybe.

He's not a regular employee. He earns nearly $4m a year in salary and has $20m in stock, it's a lot to walk away from especially when he's probably not fully retiring from working.

But the part that is curious is that he's the general counsel and a tax law specialist.

It just seems like there could be "smoke" which usually has a fire. Of course it could be nothing, he could have family issues, could have a better offer, might just want to live an upper middle class life on his earnings. But it also could mean he saw things he didn't like, or maybe did things the board didn't like.

@zov+1jZrStCR, so what if he was only here for 6 years? Some people have quit with even less time on the job. Who cares?

Someone blew the whistle on Crown’s “illegal” shenanigans and someone had to take the fall

It's old news but is something that made me raise an eyebrow since he's only been here about 6 years.
