Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

2023 Q1 Layoffs ... GSO, CS, and undisclosed PE leaders

WARN Act has been filed at HQ. It's open season now whether you're named or not in the November layoff ?

Product Engineering laid off a bunch but some high level engineering leaders are rumoured to be sacked with the power consolidation and slowly gone in 2023 with others already named. Check out where they all are now. Are they around? The re-org happened but not complete... mini steps will be taken (to avoid panic by the troops) to sack here and there and move more work to India and Mexico?

GSO and CS will now face the music big time. The migration to the cloud has mostly completed, no need for non-cloud expertise. New SaaS support model and hires will take over? The engineers will do the support under the new SaaS model if critical?

No propaganda here. Do your own research and observe and ask yourself if the above is likely to happen.

Was a WARN notification posted for the recent layoff in early November since there were many in RB that were let go? If it was, would it be a notice in general and possibility of more layoffs after the 60 day period in RB since it was posted earlier already?

There is no perfect formula for VP: total employee ratio.
Ideally each level should have 5-10 reportees. But at Teradata we are VP heavy. VP for pricing was hired amidst the layoffs. This role is just a glorified position for a man with a pricing g-n in Walmart.

What would be a normal amount of VP (+ EVP and SVP) positions for a company of 7,000+ in our industry?

Gso has been facing the music for YEARS now so not sure what else you can throw at them. I have watched that org get smaller and more overwhelmed. My customer can barely get a L2 resource and complains about it constantly. So if you wanna pi-s off our customers more and lead to more customers walking away, cut the team that provides support for our products... Cloud support doesn't do that.
