In 2022, Airbus delivered 661 commercial airplanes and added 820 orders. Boeing delivered 480 commercial airplanes and added 774 orders. COMAC delivered first C919 in December and added 330 orders. I predict Airbus and COMAC will be the next duopoly in a surprisingly short amount of time.

Boeing is selling airplanes at near COMAC prices with no plans to build or deliver.

Great plan and execution by COMAC. First target and then dominate the huge China market. Then target other markets once the required experience, knowledge and integrity is acquired. Boeing is headed in opposite direction. So we are watching both the birth of COMAC and the death of Boeing.

Dude if I had to choose, put me in a 737-200 with a missing engine and a sh-t faced Mr. Magoo piloting it. No way am I getting on a C919.

Does Boeing still have the completion center and composite center in China? Based on the mistaken belief that China would not compete directly against Boeing.

Just another management decision that financially ruined the company.

You just need the JWST to see it.
Never mind the ashes.

“…the C919 comes to market with a highly competitive price. The aircraft is valued at around $50 million, well below list prices for the latest versions of the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.”

Uh..oh

Uh... no -

"It is important to note that COMAC will not seek certification of the C919 by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)"

Very few if any countries outside of China will fly it. It was never meant to be certified to fly in the west.

Got to get stock up for executives before 4th quarter report released in January which will be worst in 3 years and illustrate Boeing is a gonna.

I find it entertaining and fascinating to read all the recent stock mercenary articles hyping Boeing stock when it is plainly obvious to anyone who understands aerospace that this company is finished. The road goes on forever and the con game never ends.

CEO Dave L. Calhoun’s Big Announcement (we've got nothing)

So, there will be very little “tribal knowledge” transmitted between design teams
involved in the last clean-sheet program and the next one. According to Calhoun,
“And then there will be a moment in time where we’ll pull the rabbit out of the hat
and introduce a new airplane sometime in the middle of next decade.”

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/2e/ec/ab/2eecab8d4c3616f8b3c7bb7c64a63ab0.jpg

Who will be around at Boeing to make that rabbit happen?
Talent retention will be a major challenge in general, as young engineers
have just been told that this decade will involve (nothing new).

  • So we’re going to pay you to sit around

with your thumb up your b-m while your skills atrophy.
Now good luck finding a real job with a real company needing a real engineer
after you sat around for a decade pounding sand like a good lackey.

Dave L. Buffoon --- is a name that fits best.

Like this is news, Boeing has seen this coming for over 20 years, competent leadership would have had a new and competitive airframe in the air today compete to with China!
