Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

What is the reputation of NCR in Serbia?

I heard that the employees there are not impressed with NCR as an employer either. Whether laid off or left voluntarily, I can't wait to leave this joke of a company and never look back.

Stepping stone is absolutely correct. It’s a company that promotes the unqualified from within and lets you learn on the job. You can start on the bottom, be promoted to good job like Project Manager, learn how to be one on the job and then use your new skill to find another employer who will pay you a project manager salary. Positive is you learn, negative is the salaries are trash.

10 years ago, it was a welcome addition to the Serbian labour market, but until last year bump in pay, pay was the same for all of that time! Now, it has a reputation as a stepping stone to a better opportunities, which are now plentiful in Belgrade. There is a huge problem with the quality of Serbian management and the turnover is abysmal. However, you can learn how corporation works, meet some fantastic people and acquire new skills. Safe to say, they could have been a Serbian Google, but now, they are just one faceless corporation.

I feel bad for the employees in Serbia, most of them anyway. Underpaid for sure and I’ve gotten along well with the FSC teams plus Analysts who support us on network calls. Just like here in the US I hope employees find something better if they choose to look elsewhere.

Serbia office hates NCR

They only work their contacted hours and the pay is so low, it’s just a stepping stone

I had some really good(and bad) times working at NCR. Like any large company some managers are fantastic, others should be imprisoned. NCR has major flaws build into it's management hierarchy which which has resulted in multiple years of failure as a company.
I am extremely happy that I moved on to another job.
