Asked to resign after 25 years of service to the company.
It is the way of Applied. I bet most of the employees are over 50. They only care about the bottom line. Not the experience that older employees have. Was played off after almost 20 years with them. No loyalty.
Why no early retirement offer in Aug22 layoff?

Applied Materials layoffs today affecting mid-management and office staff in Austin TX.
Applied Materials is a more decent place to work than Lam Research. I have worked in both companies as a contractor in finance and from my own experience, the people treated me like a real person as compared to Lam Research, they treated me like dirt, like less than human, trampled over you, because you are a contractor.
Austin Finance roles - All but two internal audit roles were pulled off the job board today. Are these roles cancelled or just being put on hold given the economy/interest rates/industry sector outlook?
Noticed a trimming in Santa Clara Finance roles as well.
Looks like we are in the clear....still no layoff news!!!
No mention of downsizing/layoffs on Feb 16 earnings call and nothing in the 8k either.
