Management pretty much said it was business needs. And from a business point of view they had to make changes in order to stop wasting money: the lay offs were at random and done from somewhere without bias to who goes and stays. He said you can look for an internal transfer and that everyone is still employed for 90 days with job search pay.
They are calling it a disposition issue and to re apply at any open positions available wtf and at that is not even a guaranteed shame on you Chino fulfillment center

walmart warehouse chino layoffs happening now. it seems over half the staff including leads, have been offered a 90 day paid transition period.

Bethlehem ECom closed two hours early on shift and now they are telling hundreds of people to not come in. Security at the start of parking lot. Blaming a system update as the issue. We know what the real deal is, just tell us. We know the layoff is coming!

All store closings and layoffs are carefully planned at the corporate level. Can use any excuse inflation, theft, full moon at the wrong times this year as long as the plans fall in line with the WEF.
Stores closing at 9pm with more part time. Walmart doesnt plan layoffs when the can pay for a 24 hour week.

This is from a previous post. Walmart doesn’t protect their employees in the stores, but home office has armed police officers.

"We've got safety measures, security measures that we've put in place by store location. I think local law enforcement being staffed and being a good partner is part of that equation, and that's normally how we approach it," he continued. Doug is talking about tax payer paid for , reserved parking spot for local police dept.
If a local PD is patrolling for a business i.e. Mall/Retail Store and so on the Business is paying for it not taxpayers. The contract is usually OT sign up for officer's as well.
It's not cheap.
Store closings and layoffs begin at the corporate level. The stores I know of have their lights at night dimmed to shadows. They have a special parking spot for law enforcement. The tax payer pays for law enforcement. To think local law enforcement have nothing better to do then answer Walmart calls is an excuse. Walmart

The board of directors get new stock options evey year to sell. Your stock is different. You have to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away and know when to run. Keep an eye on walmart insider trading they will dump what they have if they know there will be a crash. Otherwise they will keep it high because of greed.
It’s pathetic how managers run stores. Pathetic. No clue how to manage or motivate associates. No thank you, no appreciation, nothing. They hold no one accountable for anything. Not for productivity, not for attendance, nothing.

Start with laying off some of the higher ups especially market managers and ops leads. Too many bosses giving out directions in the stores and they don’t have a clue how a store actually operates every day.

What has to go and must go is as much of the board of directors as possible. They will fiddle as Rome burns. Get use to going to a Walmart insider trading site. You will see them cashing in their stock options. First they agree to buyback Walmart stock. That increases the stock price. That increase in stock price they put in their pockets when they sell their stock options. Walmart had a CEO who missed the online sales moment. Now its Woke, electric vans, double vaxxed , employee banking or buying foreign companies. Thank goodness for company stock purchases.

Like many companies, Walmart adjusts the salary associate base on a regular basis. We won’t see layoffs at the stores or distribution centers, per se. We might see some reductions of undesirable salary associates there, though.
It’s more likely we’ll see reductions at Home Office, especially merchants and just about anyone in tech. Many business units have created their own tech areas, and we’ll see them dismantled between Dec and Feb.
There’s been some talk about thinning the huge heard of sr directors, directors and senior managers- anyone above 75 level. There’s way too many and it’s been under scrutiny for some time.
No organization can operate effectively with that serious of a management imbalance.
