Is this going to be an interesting year as it relates to Johnson Controls layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

I was one of the employee from JCI Dalian, China. 20 of us got laid off in Oct’23 and successfully handed over to India. India Business Centre just got bigger and bigger. Hopefully they will still pay our bonus this Dec’23!
In Canada, we lost managers who were replaced by US managers. Thank god we have policies in Canada else, we would be driven out of our minds..... next step is to move our Canadian department to India...good luck to the French and English speaking customers....
For those of you that got let go at JCI, is any severance package offered?
Same as others, finished projects and was verbally praised publicly, then got a call and within 15 minutes my “nothing personal” job was eliminated. I bet algorithm includes vested date of 401k matches so they do not have to fund it.
Are the layoffs ongoing through to the end of September? Which locations?
Same as others here -- had been watching rolling layoffs. Also pretty senior, called in, informed job was being cut, not personal, escorted out same day. Senior employees with strongest performance cut -- yep, salaries on a spreadsheet. Stone cold.
The plan is to cut 25% of the workforce, engineers, warehouse and production, even in Mexico. This process is in week 2 of this process. You get called into a conference room then walked out of the building….so cold. September is the end of the fiscal year so they must be making up for lagging revenue. The last big layoff was in 2018. Not unusual, Johnson Controls is known for bloating the workforce and then slashing it at the first sign of not meeting it’s numbers.
They just. laid-off me and others with no notice in Tucson with more to come! The 2 warehouses would be shut down by OSHA IF ONE PERSON MADE A REPORT. 59
Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. With prices soaring in the service industry, lay offs are imminent. And leadership will never address it as they always have a golden parachute!!
Yep, lay-offs has started again....some departments moving outside Canada
Was layed off in September 2022 from JCI from a pretty senior position. I was told, "Don't take it personally. "You are just a salary on a spreadsheet."
Anyone heard any rumors? Looking at these tech layoffs lets all stay ahead...if any rumors please share.
I was a 2020 layoff victim and I was re-hired in 2021. I am therefore very concerned about history repeating itself. I have heard rumors circulating about layoffs in 2023. I know people who know people who have been laid off but it hasn’t hit close to home for me yet. Of course leadership isn’t talking about it, even when confronted by questions in the town halls meetings.
