I have heard nothing about layoffs through the NCR news feeds, all the info comes from this site.
Why no balloons and champagne with a status update of how much money is being saved per layoff? Or chart of how many jobs have been redirected overseas?
My understanding is there is plan for another round of layoffs next week (first week of December) not surprising given the next all hands is next week so if I had to guess they will occur Thursday or Friday.
Just because a job can be done in India doesn't mean it can be done well in India. Execs need to wake up to that fact. Outsourcing gets them short term (read short sighted) results just long enough for them to make their escape and they take no responsibility for the destruction they leave behind.
50% of US based jobs will move abroad. If your job can be done in Serbia or India, it will. That's the high level answer to this question. NCR is prepared and discussed at the exec level sub-leasing 1 of the 2 towers in midtown. If you think that's BS then be more observant.
Another year, another round of layoffs. Layoffs have become more regular and common than raises. Hayford does not giveth, he only taketh away.
