Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Plans Delayed?

Someone forwarded, is this real?

"Since management has refused to negotiate in good faith regarding changes in retirement benefits, we have no other recourse than to begin our strike at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, March 15. We will remain on strike until an agreement is reached that will not penalize the families of those who have been loyal workers.

As difficult as a strike is on everyone, it is far more difficult for a family that is relying on a breadwinner's retirement to have it taken away. Our case is strong, and we hope to return to work soon. It is important that we show a united front in this issue that will affect many of our families."

I thought it was set for December 5th? No wonder everything is messed up.

Why not June 15th or November 1 ?? LOL
Seems like satire to me.
But if the NCCC is only willing to negotiate based on the Peb recommendations then we might as well start the strike ASAP. Leadership is just going through the motions and has no desire to fulfill their fiduciary responsibilities. The majority have spoken no matter how small the margin of victory.
The railway labor act is antiquated and goes against the ethics of modern labor laws which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone considering it was written when people and "corporations" could buy and sell humans like cattle.

Ok so the strike date has been moved farther out yet again. There's no way this is a real decision. What happened to the dates in November and upcoming December?

Only an internal discussion is NOT a decision yet.
