What was the main criterion for deciding who gets to stay and whom to get rid of?

The main criterion for layoff at TDC is that there is no criterion.
Productivity does not seem to matter much having seen the best performers in team get cut and these were the ones that would regularly bring solid solutions, discussions, and code contributions to the team. The higher paid workers are usually the first considered to be let go.

Going by your logic only the LTand ELT fall in that category. They did an OR, not an AND.
They choose least productive AND most expensive resources. Simple filters and sorting in Excel will define the fate. Nobody cares if data is correct or represents reality.
Cronies stay, others out.
