@2qos What a ridiculous set of statements.

"Our former CTO simply had finished her job of creating the most revolutionary learning platform in the industry". You cannot create something revolutionary after 8 months. You cannot even market test it after then.

"No one should plan on staying employed at Cengage for too long". Clearly talent retention is not a priority and driving employees to leave is. Sounds like a great place to work.

I hope the CEO did not write this. If so, the CTO probably left because of the CEO, not because she didn't work out.

The CTO was let go because she was not qualified for the role. Her background was in project management and she could not connect with the engineers. She is idealistic about things and this clashed with the company culture. She has a Machiavellian streak which alienated a lot of the other executives at the company.

Greetings,

I would like to address the chatter about Ms Valentine’s departure after 8 month. Cengage is a technology disruptor and as those who work in the tech industry know, employees move from job to job very rapidly. Our former CTO simply had finished her job of creating the most revolutionary learning platform in the industry and was ready to move on. Cengage is not some dinosaur company like General Motors where employees expect to stay for 30 years and retire with a gold watch. Our talented associates are constantly turning over to work for other tech disruptors or become their own CEOs for multi level marketing firms. With the exception of certain key C-level roles, no one should plan on staying employed at Cengage for too long. If you feel too comfortable here then you may want to consider getting on a different train.

GM was pretty incompetent and he lasted a really long time.

Poor MH is wearing ripped-up jeans in his new portrait. You would think he could afford a suit, or clothes without holes in them. I guess he's just trying to signal other disrupters and students that he's hip, too.

I think the original poster was pointing out that she mailed it in after 8 months.

I like the new CTO’s casual image portrayed in her photo. She looks like a hip disruptor and not a stuffy suit.

Me thinks our own IPS must have written that press release.

It’s just amazing that people even take senior level jobs at that sh-t show.

The press release is hilarious. It’s like an Onion Parody.

That didn’t age well.
