Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

"Railroading is not for everyone"

Although I generally agree with that statement, I think it is very problematic because it somewhat implies that railroading is a very difficult and tiring job, that is, that it cannot be made any better.

Instead of advocating that this should be a less draining job, people seem to have resigned themselves to the fact that it will never get any better here. Just saying.

What? Please explain how railroading is not a difficult job, or tiring. I haven't heard of anyone getting crushed by an office chair, or derailing one! Dwell time, the last time I checked doesn't include office chairs either. Railroading is NOT for everyone! For anyone that thinks otherwise, should join the people that work in the elements. If you were "just saying", then you should understand completely what people go through to get the work done.
