Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Okay, but seriously, is it that bad?

I honestly feel for those who have been let go, whether they wanted to go or not. It’s always demanding, so I understand that.

That being said, for those of us who are still around, is there no one that is being challenged at their work anymore?

I’ve always been of the mindset that it would be unwise to leave just yet before seeing the dust settle.

The grass isn’t any greener elsewhere and the entire industry is in turmoil.

It’s a weird time but I can’t imagine EVERYONE hates being here right now. I hope that for all of us, there will be some light at the end of the tunnel.

I have heard from a little birdie that many layoffs will be delayed until January, for whatever reason. They didn't change their minds, believe me. The worst is still ahead.

For those of you who “love it here and plan to stay” - how naive are you ? The job cuts haven’t really started yet.

I actually enjoy working here. I keep my head down and busy and there are interesting problems to solve and people are nice to get along with.

I figure you go somewhere else and bah humbug. Maybe it’ll be better maybe not. Whatever. Leave if you want to or stay if you want to but if you’re going to stay then accept the place for what it is.

I'm just waiting for TK to hand my @$$ back to me.

I'm sure everyone waiting for RSUs to vest are happy with everything (well thats what they'll say publicly anyway). Once they are done I'm sure that message will change as more depart for greener pastures.

All relatively grim assessments of the CSG situation. However, unsurprising to us.

If it's any consolation to you, you're not alone. The folks who currently work at Broadcom Software BU have been following this thread. We're a group of old-timers from the remains of CA and Symantec that stuck around for a paycheck, nothing more.

You'll see, Krause is predictable and dull. He's a human spreadsheet without a soul.

In a few weeks, TK has ki---d everything that we built over many years as far as great culture goes.

  1. Respect for employees (e.g. all the comms, RTO) - GONE
  2. ERGs and causes beyond day-to-day work (e.g. charitable causes) - GONE
  3. Desire to recruit great talent (e.g. TA teams let go) - GONE
  4. Eng leadership focus on technology - GONE (now they have to focus on doing the TA job)
  5. Importance of focus on people - GONE (HR is not reporting into CEO anymore)

Oh, and BTW the company's leader is neither a product visionary nor a technologist. No compelling vision, no unifying purpose.

There is no better feeling than being a part of a winning team. If that is not important to you, and if you are fine with all the above - please stay... why bother....

The grass is greener elsewhere. Not every company is a nightmare.

The problem is that CSG is all about the numbers. There is no company culture. It's a chop shop. There's no Citrix BU future other than getting sold off. What goal are we working towards? Nothing is being built for the future.

Company culture... Krause canceled the charitable match program. You know - you donate $50 to some charity and the company matches it. HE ENDED IT. No charities for CSG, no sir. Vista wants all the money. TIBCO used to do stuff for veterans because Streetman served overseas. That's gone, of course.

CSG is a dark, cold, heartless place now. I don't know one manager who is excited about what is happening. They hate it.

It’s beyond fu---d up right now. Thus you’d have to travel 2000 light years to get from “beyond fu---d up.” In order to see any light at the so called tunnel.
