You are safe if you are from the same country or town as the director and managers…..it has been like these for decades
Cuts are rarely based on performance. At Q, it will be just purely based on what your dir thinks of you. They will get a “target” mostly from their SVP/ VP - a$ number or %. They will shuffle things around to optimize both future work and $$. Q whip lords are very good at squeezing more than enough perf out of any engineer.
In short, it doesn’t matter. Just bad luck if your name is drawn from the hat.
