Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

No, you are not safe here, in case you keep wondering

At this moment, nobody at Citrix is safe. I've seen folks who have worked for the company for decades laid off in the last few months, as well as people who have just been here a year. I've witnessed both our best and worst employees leave. People who were sure they could not be replaced are no longer here. Nobody is safe.

"It’s all going to come down to his ability to adapt to the things and situations that he didn’t anticipate or that he hasn’t had to deal with before."

You're talking about a man who stood up in front of a room full of some of the world's foremost experts in remote work and told them that he doesn't know how to do his job that way, so none of them are going to work that way anymore either.

Just for some context on his ability to adapt.

...with three months severance.

TBH, I'd rather Elon's way. Get it over with. Cut it out with the endless dragging on of bullsh-t.

"Good luck rookies."

Seriously dude, have you considered the fact that your anger management counseling isn't working? You need help. Externally you talk like a successful bigshot, but inside I suspect you are full of hate and anger toward the people around you that don't see things the way you do.

I hope you don't own a g-n. You're a threat to the rest of us at CSG. Get help ASAP.

So what? I don’t understand why the complaints. This is not a school full of minors. Adults whining is not a good look. I make $125k at Citrix per year. Not a lot of money these days. But I can work anywhere that’ll have me and I can also work on my own small business if I decide to kick off something small where I’ll probably make twice as much but with a lot more risk. Eff off. Be an adult and either milk it while you can if you want or leave. If you wasted your career not making great contacts, don’t blame for-profit companies for trying to make more at your expense. If you’re early in your career, know that this is not uncommon. Life is hard and corporate business is even harder. Even the best companies have to go through s*it like this once in a while. Good luck rookies.

"My thoughts are the TK is an autocratic dictator surrounded by puppets."

This is clearly a TK weakness; there doesn't appear to be anyone in his leadership team who would dare to offer an alternative approach to his prior playbook from Broadcom.

Viewing CSG as yet another simple cash extraction exercise may turn out to be myopic thinking. To your point, the emerging economic dynamics could be disruptive to his traditional playbook, and in the absence of alternative approaches from trusted advisors, there may be no forthcoming 'plan B' scenario that's viable. But, we'll have to wait and see how this develops over time.

My thoughts are the TK is an autocratic dictator surrounded by puppets. I was shocked when he regurgitated Citrix and Tibco past leaders. Haven’t they all worked up a healthy resume of underwhelming results? Why in the world would you surround yourself with proven failures? I think TK thinks he has this all figured out. On one hand, he does. There’s no question that his formula for success is supported by the existing financials. On the other hand, he hasn’t ever had to test that formula in the type of economy that exists today. I don’t think it plays nice with the way he has it drawn up. And p- - -ing off the employees is just a bush league move. Perplexing.

Overall, I still think the deck is stacked in his favor. It’s all going to come down to his ability to adapt to the things and situations that he didn’t anticipate or that he hasn’t had to deal with before. Right now, adaptability doesn’t really seem to be a strength.

I’m just glad I didn’t join an unstable Fang company.

"The jury is still out on whether or not things will work out in the long term."

The odds of meaningful progress don't seem in CSG's favor. Looking forward to 2023, the software apps marketplace will be unkind to poor-performing legacy companies that are already struggling. It's not clear, to me, that the leadership team TK assembled is prepared for this challenge. Thoughts?

Treated so badly too. Business changes and companies evolve but nothing excuses the way this is been handled.

The company is not safe either. Don’t think that everything is going to turn out exactly like they’ve scripted it just because someone with Ivy League and Broadcom credentials is holding the wheel. The facts suggest that CSG is a company that’s struggling mightily. Key issues are 1) negative employee morale, 2) a diminishing customer base, and 3) a well documented cash flow problem.

The jury is still out on whether or not things will work out in the long term.
