Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

Layoff timing

Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is very close... I absolutely do not understand laying off employees right before the holidays, that is, in a period when the demand for labor should be higher than usual... Can someone explain that to me? I don't know much about business but laying off employees with the holidays approaching seems like a very bad decision.

The du----s that led you to the layoff usually are too d-mb to realize they won't hit full year financial goal and next year look really bad until after Q3 earnings in early September. The layoff decision and pre-work starts then so you always end up with pre-holiday layoff. It's been like that forever.

Yet you will probably still buy all your Christmas presents from Amazon, right? Wake up, people. The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

Welcome to corporate America. You and everyone else is just a headcount. Nothing more.
