Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Finally, a relief!

I feel sorry for everyone who is affected, but somehow I had a premonition that our store would close very soon.

I couldn't wait for it to finally happen because the atmosphere was very chaotic.

I thought I would never say that, but now I finally feel relief.

owned brands are a good idea if you still carry the name brand people know, it’s comparable quality, and cheaper then the name brand. BBB’s issue was trying to replace the name brands people came to the stores for, with subpar quality (for example, the basic wamsutta pillows that were replaced with poor quality nestwell) and the same, if not more expensive, price points. if people wanted generic low quality home goods, they could get it from target or wal mart while doing their other shopping

I work for TJX now and we do have lots of Our Table, Simply Essential and Wild Sage in my store. It's always amusing to me when I come across those items.

Warning signs?
40+ pallets of N and D status garbadge
rammed into closings stores a week before Black Friday.
Desperation.
On a side note I hear Our Table branded junk is showing up in TJX outlets.

I hear the last shipments for closing stores are on Friday. So if you don’t get any new shipments on Monday that is a BAD SIGN!!!

Question: did you stop getting freight? What were some of your warning signs? I would be surprised if ours stays open. Our freight has been max 150 pieces a day. Hardly anything to sell for 4th quarter. Except ugg of course.
