Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

I have not followed the news regarding Boeing since I left the company

Been to busy with my new job to follow Boeing. Can someone state what the loss in earnings were regarding BDS side of the company? I assume it was Tanker since Boeing don't have a lot of nee Military contracts besides sales of mature fighters like the F15 and F18.

Just avoid all things Boeing. No need to follow Boeing as it is going down like their unsafe planes.

The defense and space business losses are from every fixed price contract that Boeing is still obligated. You might think their commercial airplane business is doing ok. But in truth, they have only been able to maintain a fake appearance that their nose is above water because the airplanes they are delivering today are from their huge 737/787 inventory that was built years ago and this expense is not reflected in their current quarterly reports.

Bottom line, Boeing hasn't been able to design or manufacture anything in the past 10 years that results in a positive profit margin. They have been giving away airplanes in a failed attempt to retain some market share. They have been selling off everything they can to generate cash flow. They are $58B in debt. It is highly unlikely that airplane orders scheduled beyond this year will become actual deliveries and actual revenue given the current state of their anemic and inexperienced workforce.

Air Force One will be a big loser too. But you have to understand Boeing isn't in it for the long haul. There only object knowing their competition has beaten them is a short term executive get rich scheme.

Boeing won a couple small defense programs athe Air Force trainer T7 in the refueling drone tanker MQ25 but they underbid them and they’re going to be money losers for Boeing.

This is in addition to the tanker cost overruns and Starliner being a year late.

So basically all the new defense programs are going to be money losers for Boeing.

I'm sure the failed rocket program helped their earnings.
