There had been tiny layoffs here and there in the past month, but yesterday roughly 1800 people were let go.

It was kept quiet and surgical. Only openly discussed in leadership/management calls. We found out because of email auto-replies. I'm not aware of full list but it included technical management across architects and Product Ops.
