I was looking to apply for a Professional Services Team at AWS and notified by a friend that AWS is freezing all the req. I was wondering what caused that. I thought AWS is doing really well?

Honestly, I will not hire someone who know how to use thelayoff.com, but don't know how to read news about Amazon layoff of 10K staff.
Okay so you don't have to be unpleasant about it.
If you are a python guru, you shouldn't have any problem landing a new gig.
However, if you are someone like MIT Ph.D. still in the Meta BootCamp, the end result will be the same.
Okay... wow. So you realized they literally laid off about 10,000 people today, right? This is likely why they're on a hiring freeze. They need to let go, reorg, and fill in vacancies internally.
How is that "doing well"? Probably best you don't interview for a company you don't have a lot of insight into.
Many many many companies are currently in a hiring freeze. This should not be a surprise to anyone.
