Twitter reportedly cuts 4,400 contract workers following mass layoffs

After laying off 50 percent of the company’s employees, Elon Musk has turned his attention to Twitter’s contract workers. According to separate reports from Platformer’s Casey Newton and Axios, the social media platform began reducing its contingent staff on Saturday afternoon. After a period of uncertainty about the scale of the job cuts, Newton put the number at approximately 4,400 affected individuals. The move is expected significantly impact Twitter's ability to moderate content and keep its platform up and running.

all those employees gone and the platform performs exactly the same, even with traffic at all time highs. really makes you think.

You can test by writing some should be deleted content on Twitter to see if they are blocked.

you dont need 20k employee to maintain a social platform like twitter. 3-5k is more than sufficient. ofc you can argue 50k is necessary, if you want to turn twitter into a combination of wechat/instgram/snapchat/whatsapp/Gpay/ApplePay etc
