Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Good to see nobody is mentioning layoffs

People keep arguing about other stuff but it seems everybody has accepted there'll be no cuts any time soon. You can say what you want about SA, but when it comes to job security, we are doing better than most. Especially right now, considering the state of the economy in the entire world.

No layoffs...but heard many quietly quitting so fewer expats by attrition.

Aramco is no different than anywhere else in big oil.

If 80's the price, everythings nice.
If 50 is in the sack, watch your back.
If 30s drags, pack your bags.

Sadly, eventually they will just sink in the sand and go back to growing dates. Its a pity but thats the only way forward on the current trajectory. The best Saudi’s will leave too, infact that has already started.

As oil sales dwindle, so will the state. 2030 will deliver nothing but more advertising BS.

There is a Employee Layoff Program policy, scheduled every 3 years, 2023 is the next one, so, we will see. Some departments now are very proud showing their all locals units when they have VP meetings and certainly is part of the 2030 vision but without any doubt any layoff employee will face a less traumatic scenario that those in 2020, that was insane.

The cliche expression “all quiet before the storm” is so apt for this company. Manpower reviews are continuous, keep on banking because the only certainty at Aramco is uncertainty.

Do not forget the vision for the kingdom is are zero expats in professional jobs… Only a matter of time.

Figures at present are also suppressed owing to far fewer expats in Aramco (the camp is a Saudi enclave now) and fewer positions that are “non-saudized”.

But yeah for now, make buck while it lasts.
