Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

What if the all hands had started like this?

Last week was tough. really tough. I'm sad and angry that we had to make these very difficult decisions.

I had a different speech planned, but instead let me take a few moments to tell you why this is the last time we're going to have go through this. How our investments will pay off in the months and years ahead. How you can be proud to be a part of this company through the bad times and into the good."

Nothing is guaranteed. We are seeing so many foreigners coming to America who work hard and get great jobs while American youth’s drive to be all they can be has been ki---d by entitlement syndrome. Sorry that is not how it works. You want a Maserati? You gotta work Bi$chz

Pine Cone Paul. Amazing.
And YOU get a tree and YOU get a tree! No job or insurance, but there's a tree somewhere that in 10 years you can pitch a tent under while you're living in your van DOWN BY THE RIVER.

It took over 70 minutes for them to address the layoffs. Shame!

Applause to the brave colleagues who called them out on the layoffs right in the company live stream chat. Now that’s courage and straight talk. Something our current leadership lacks.

That’s how an accountable ELT SHOULD be addressing a layoff.

Shame we lack real leaders who first would take accountability, acknowledge this tough time, and share their plan to avoid this next year.
