Chapek is following the MGM model, where Disney will ultimately phase out the media side of the business as more and more IP becomes public domain with more focus being put on vacations, travel, and gambling.
Much of this has to do with pressure coming from european majority shareholders and woke activists within the company including those among the executive team. The reality is Bob will continue to pay lip service to the wokes as they and content are phased out over time.
Disney+ will remain for the foreseeable future but many properties will be licensed to competitors like Netflix to balance the return on investment until the transition is complete.
Not saying this is a good strategy, but this is the strategy nonetheless. If you're in news or media, my advice would be to plan accordingly.
