Thread regarding CNN layoffs

From bad to worse

In the last 72 hours, at least twenty CNN employees (on-air talent, rank-and-file staff, and more) have called or texted me, many of them unsolicited, to convey that things have never been worse.

Learn to code.
Good enough for coal miners, it should be a piece of cake for all the brilliant CNN minds.

I know it is hard.

American is truly loving and accepting. It is always fine to focus on blue and red every day, but promoting to expand H-1B visa for Wall Street and Big Tech, hits home very hard.

H-1B programs bring too many workers in several fields than we can possibly absorb. Instead, older American is fired frequently. We are going through what you are feeling today, just on a permanent basis when we are over 40 yr.

H-1B program, OPT program, outsourcing are all great. Until we have to survive this in every corporation.

Then you report America needs to expand H-1B visa program. Corporate leaderships all speak in unison. At best, news like yours stops having any flavor.

As an organization to promote equality – CNN, Wall Street, Big Tech and other groups have successfully persuaded America to reduce costs by removing or not hiring American workers over 40+ yr old.

For us: Quiet firing is real, Age matters the most in corporate America: You are truly blessed not having to witness this every day, because every corporation is doing the same using H-1B and outsourcing to reduce costs from hiring middle aged American.
CNN knows, but forgets us.

Pray that today may be just a phase to your career, and you will rebound. I wish if only it could be the same for us.
