And he says that in the official statement. "I want to take accountability for these decisions and for how we got here." So if it's his fault, and we all know it is, then why are the employees the ones who are paying for it? Why not him and his entourage? They caused this mess, they should be held responsible.

Yes, this may sound "generous". But remember that Meta has hired 19k people last year alone (!) and now they are laying off 11k people. What stupid planning is that? How can you overhire so drastically, it's ridiculous. They probably just hired to snap the talent away from the competition.
Have you heard of a king without clothes? The people who feed bad information and decisions to a pathetically mo--nic king are equally responsible for the king's decisions. Facebook management are more guilty in many ways, because their million dollar bonus are just too good to risk.
I know layoffs hurt, but the severance he's offering is pretty generous by US industry standards. 16 weeks for every employee then 2 weeks for every year they work, plus health insurance for 6 months. I've been through layoffs from the dot.com bust and the 2008 fiasco, most companies aren't this generous.
C'mon he was more than generous - CORBA for 3 months for the whole family.
Yeah "I take full responsibility" are the most empty words in the English language. Is he taking responsibility for their mortgages or their health care with his billins? What consequences is he actually seeing? Any time someone says that I roll my eyes
