Thread regarding YRC Worldwide Inc. layoffs

Be prepared

11/9/22

I currently work at a terminal that was absorbed by Yellow LTL. There have been many out of town guys coming in and helping out due to driver and dockworker shortages... which is nothing new really. However, a group of guys that were supposed to be with us through December as of today have been summoned back to their home terminals, seemingly out of the blue and rumors are swirling that this is due to an approaching company wide layoff.
Anyone else seeing the same things at their terminals?

Just laid off 10 of us in linehaul in Memphis 431. Some of us weren’t even through training. Makes no sense that they kept hiring just to lay them off weeks later.

Docks are full of freight. Clients are being told that pickups/deliveries are unavailable because they don’t have the manpower and yet they layoff. THEN the guys who are not laid off are working overtime. How does this make any sense? YRC is the grinch that stole Thanksgiving and Christmas!

i recently started at YRC over in Chicago I wasn't in for 2 weeks before they told me my training was being halted due to layoffs. Why would you hire new workers and have layoffs 2 weeks later?
