Thread regarding Meta / Facebook layoffs

53,000 Jobs to be Lost

Here's the Math:

  • 30,000 contractors will not be renewed in 2023
  • so the number is 11K+30K = 42K...
  • Add to that 10K FTEs slated for layoffs in 2023,
  • we are looking at 42K+11K=53K

Facebook is all but a dead product. The writing is on the wall. Everyone I know has either deleted or abandoned their account. I'm around a lot of teens and are all addicted to TikTok and don't even use Facebook. IG is still used by this demo though so at least Meta will have some reliable cash flow.

People are not using Facebook as much, they moved to Tiktok. WhatApp does not generate enough revenues. IG is going downhill. Metaverse is just a dream with no legs.
Another 20k cut in employees will not fix the problem. Ask MySpace for details.

Hey stock recovered - that is a lot of dough which will be poured into the Metaverse. Let us hope it will bear fruition!

Good! Facebook is garbage and produces nothing for the masses except narcissism.

Looking forward to this company going bankrupt and everyone starving.
