This was expected. The most personable and sociable people keep their jobs. How hard you work and your competency is irrelevant. This is because large companies have a money making machine, and whether you work there or not is unimportant. It's a club, and you're not in it.
If you want to do meaningful work, work at a startup or a small company.
she's still there. the ones let go are no longer active in dir but she still is. what a travesty. she also posted this on her linkedin and said that she posted that video on purpose because she's a self proclaimed social marketing genius and got about 100 likes from her friends. surrounded by yes men. she's delusional. and there are 2 more levels of pm above her so how she didn't get cut is sus
still being in the directory doesnt mean anything. people change roles or leave and the directory isnt updated in real time, it takes a few weeks. if you want to know if she's still around just send her a message. if she's gone you'll get an auto reply saying the account is no longer active. but yeah what a disgrace and insult to the employees here who actually work for a living
This must be the most read topic about meta layoffs :-)
She's still in the directory
Don't laid off folks stay till their termination day (in 60 days?) in the directory?
Someone admired her for her ability to tell a good story and cited her video is a way for attracting girls to tech. I am an engineer mother who writes code, with a college bound daughter. If this is a modus operandi to attract girls to tech - I am truly disappointed. There is a satisfaction and happiness when you solve problems be it code or software or hardware. You dont come to tech due to good coffee, snacks and meals. Ashamed, this video is an insult to so many women engineers who are truly doing amazing impressive work!
I believe her video symbolizes our work culture today.. Based on her background, I'm sure she is a knowledgeable individual. However, her video illustrates how work attitudes and environments have changed over the last 20 years. Did her daily planner contain any PM deliverables relating to her Meta Project? This video illustrates how much we need to get back to accountability.
Who?
nope, she's still here
