16 weeks + 2 weeks for every year spent with no cap? That's like a paid vacation for you guys - btw I am non meta person.

It's a very generous severance pkg. I am a living proof that getting laid off is not the worse but actually the best could happen to me and I didn't even get that generous of a pkg. The first time I got laid off I bought a house and the 2nd time I bought a car. Of course, I got a job almost right away so was collecting double pay checks. So, enjoy the time off for the holidays...
It is a very generous package. I don't know if younger folks who did not go through the dot com bust or 2008 realize that.
I meant to say that meta guys are good enough to find a job way early than most other non meta employees in the market. Hence people looking at 6 months severance should enjoy it in a way.
