Surprisingly fair severance package

The question is whether this generous package can cover up the big black eye on this company's reputation for cutting 11k jobs.

What @dgd said. You must be young. This sucks but it's certainly not new. My first tech company cut 18% of their workforce in the 2000's. Eventually, by the end of the decade, they were bought, after many subsequent cuts. At one time, that company was so popular that nobody could have ever predicted it's downfall. Package was generous but not as generous as Mark's. And I know people hate him but I think he really did try to do the right thing with the severance.

It's the first "layoff" ever. Coming from any other Tech company that's existed that long, it's shocking that it's only 11,000. People don't appreciate how both Obama and Trump both kept employment steaming along with inflation low.
