Thread regarding Meta / Facebook layoffs

Looks like recruiting was hit the hardest

Which makes sense, to be honest. I feel for them, though. Finding a new job won't be easy.

Meta has about 2k recruiters. About 1500 were shown the door. The remaining ones are HR specific and are needed for regular HR related tasks. I got off LinkedIn due to these annoying recruiters pestering me with job offers at Meta even though they could see clearly on my profile that I work at Meta.

Umm - how many recruiters could there actually be, among 11,000, that they were hit the hardest? As a percentage? What’s the metric?

A dime a dozen. No real talent in sending messages on LinkedIn. Most people that want to work for Facebook do so because they are obsessed with passing leetcode interview or having Facebook on resume. The funny thing now, Facebook or meta on your resume is no longer valuable

Agreed, I feel bad so many people within Talent Acquisition believe that these big Techs are safe, however when a big Freeze hits. The company can't support the expense line. I feel bad, but they all certainly are quality, especially if they worked on Facebook.. If they recruited and pipelined developers, I'm sure other orgs will be interested in what they can bring to the table.
